Reimagining Africa's Food System.

Today three crops – rice, wheat and corn – make up 60% of the plant-based calories in most diets. This over-reliance on monocultures in Africa is leading to land degradation and reduced biodiversity.

At Kura, we’re living up to our name which means to “grow and cultivate” in Shona.

Given the rising rates of extreme climatic events across Africa and continued land degradation, we at Kura Superfoods are taking up the challenge to shine the spotlight on Africa's hardy ancient grains as alternative crops for dietary diversification and the empowerment of smallholder farmers.

Put simply: we’re on a mission to grow and place Africa’s supremely nutritious regenerative crops back on local and international plates.

We’re doing this by innovating with products consisting of lost crops and sharing with local and international markets their exceptional regenerative benefits for nutrition, social good, and the environment.
